my first gprs post

here is my first post from my phone. So the syntax might come out a bit wonky. Have finally started putting together some stuff which i can begin sharing soon and am very excited about this. Its been a dream for long and finally a small beginning. So 2011 here i come. And my darling husband who has been so supportive throughout and tolerated my messes and moody creative spells thankyou!!

Finally my table is kind of ready with my softboard and lamp. The lamp was a trial version only but I like it so much i am keeping the trial version on for now..

Breakthrough

ok after tinkering with many sequins and coming up with a below average piece..i have finally managed to break out of this measured sameness and predictability rut i had fallen into..

The latest one is called dandelions in the sun and is deliciously random. I love it and with this, I am proud to say that the above rut is now shattered!! :)

Gold and Red

So last night I sat at my new desk .. taking in the feeling .. it was wonderful cutting open the packs of sequins and pouring them onto the desk.. first project to create a Wonderful Lamp for my desk. second, a Nice Softboard!

Just to start with, stringing together some of these sequins with beads..these catch and reflect light beautifully... yet are so light. Enjoying doing this piece. Its got a very frothy light feel. However, doesnt keep the nylon fishcord taut. Will have to attach a heavier piece to weigh down the entire piece. Have been contemplating what to use... something very festive almost christmasy looking..

The New Work Table

I have a new work table! ok I have a new corner for my old work table .. still its new. and loaded with baskets full of delicious stuff.. i am raring to start!
hopefully we would've reached our target of finally unpacking everything and setting it in its right place this Saturday ... and Avi keeps his end of the deal by promptly going to bed at 8.30 every evening leaving us free to chat and work on our respective tables...life seems good.

Golden Leaves

The sun grows higher. Snuggling Avi closer into my arms I watch the little patch of sky through the bars of my window change colour. Its gray, dull and brown.. a huge cluster of dried leave cling to a branch waiting to be shed. Some birds chirp uncertainly. I hit the snooze button and wait some more.

And suddenly, there is the sun. The sad dried leaves burst into a brilliant gold.. glinting in the sun...gilded. The sky lights up with gold and green, birdsongs fill the sky. I know now is the time to wake up. Time to switch off the alarm.. a new day has begun.
